The historic seat of the Vítkovci family — Vítek square, the church of St Lawrence and the Vítek z Prčice brewery. The legendary Prague–Prčice hike starts here.
Around & trips
The farm sits in the calm landscape of the Czech Meran — a basin among the wooded hills of the Jistebnice Highlands. Fields, ponds, forest paths and plenty of places to explore. And when you just want a walk, step out the gate. And in summer there's great soft-serve ice cream just a short stroll from the farm.

About 10 minutes by car. In winter 2 ski slopes with a chairlift, cross-country trails and a modern all-stainless bobsled track (1,300 m, up to 40 km/h) — Snow Factory technology means skiing even above freezing. In summer an activity park: a water mega-slide, a rope park, trampolines, archery, disc golf and e-bike rental. A great trip for families and groups in any season.
The area is laced with cycle routes and safe trails. The backbone is the paved Krčín cycle path from Sedlčany via Sedlec-Prčice up to Monínec — wide, separated from traffic, ideal with kids too. For the fitter there is the marked “Czech Meran Viewpoints” loop (~31 km) or the upland “Little Šumava” (~28 km). And right on Javorová skála by Monínec there is a bike park with lift-served trails — from a kids' line to jumps.

Swimming, castles and châteaux, lookout towers, an open-air museum and forests for mushrooming — the best of the area for half a day or a full day.

~5 kmThe closest place to swim, and free. Clean spring-fed water, a grassy beach and a sandy bottom for children, just below Monínec.
~12 kmScenic ridges, forest paths and cycling routes above the Czech Meran. The finest local walks and bike rides — and in autumn a paradise for mushroom pickers.
~15 kmA romantic moated château of the National Museum with a park that bursts into azaleas and rhododendrons in May. A bell-casting exhibition and a memory of the poet R. M. Rilke.
~20 kmA museum of village buildings of the central Vltava region — log cabins, a mill, a sawmill and a forge in a picturesque valley. A great family trip.
~25 kmA wooden lookout tower above Osečany with a sweeping view of the region. A pleasant goal for a walk or a bike ride.
~26 kmThe Gothic Žižka square, the Hussite Museum and a mysterious medieval underground beneath the town. History, cafés and walks above the Lužnice river.
~40 kmAn elegant baroque château still lived in by the Sternberg family — lively tours, a park, a café and animals. A quieter alternative to Konopiště.
~42 kmThe grand residence of Archduke Franz Ferdinand with a game park, a rose garden with peacocks and a bear moat. A lovely half-day stop.
~48 kmOne of the oldest preserved castles, dramatically set above a bend of the Sázava river. Rich interiors and photogenic views.
~48 kmThe Benedictine monastery of St Procopius with an unfinished Gothic cathedral and a calm garden by the river. A piece of ancient history by the water.
~50 kmThe “king of Czech castles” above the confluence of the Vltava and Otava. In season boats sail from here to Orlík château — a castle, a cruise and a swim in one day.
About an hour and a quarter from Prague by car (~80 km) — via the D3 toward Tábor, exit at Miličín and on to Sedlec-Prčice. Parking right in the farm courtyard. Address: Měšetice 2, 257 91 Sedlec-Prčice.
